Evaluation of Antioxidant, Anti?Inflammatory and Antityrosinase Potential of Extracts from Different Aerial Parts of <i>Rhanterium suaveolens</i> from Tunisia

The genus Rhanterium (Asteraceae) is a widely distributed medicinal plant throughout western North Africa and some species are used in folk medicine. aim of research was to investigate methanolic extracts from different parts (flowers, leaves, stems) Tunisian suaveolens as potential sources bioactive products useful for healthy purposes. In particular, were analyzed the phenolic composition these their antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-tyrosinase properties. phytochemical analyses performed using standard colorimetric procedures, HPLC-DAD HPLC-DAD-ESI-MS. Then, several vitro cell-free assays have been estimate antioxidant/free radical scavenging capability extracts. Moreover, vitro, vivo anti-melanogenesis activities tested, respectively, with tyrosinase inhibition assay Zebrafish embryo model. Finally, anti-inflammatory an model acute intestinal inflammation differentiated Caco-2 cells evaluated. R. under study appeared particularly rich flavonols hydroxycinnamic acids all endowed good properties, being flower slightly more active than others. flowers extract able inhibit activity exhibited bleaching effects on pigmentation zebrafish embryos.
